The Walt Disney World College Program
The Walt Disney World College Program is national internship program in United States of America governed by The Walt Disney Company and is stationed at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, USA. This program hires students who have reached the age of 18 for the semester internship, a paid one, to work at the Walt Disney Work Resort.
This program is presented at the majority of universities and colleges within the United States of America and its surrounding territories. This program has three main goals: living, earning, and learning.
The first program began in 1981. A group of students which accounted 200 people was gathered from the 30 colleges and this group worked only at the Magic Kingdom and till 1988 all the groups of students were staying at mobile home park in Kissimmee, in Florida. In 1986, the territory where the students were able to work started to extend. Thus, in 1986, the students were able to work at Epcot as well. The popularity of the Walt Disney Resort started to grow that is why the number of groups gathered and send there also increased.
In 2004, the name of the program was changed into Disney Theme Parks and Resorts College Program and it has become the largest and the most internship program for students.
